John Phillips (otherwise Richard Phillips, otherwise George Gambell) of Warwick in the parish of Iscoed on 8 February 1778 at 8 in the night burglariously entered the dwelling house of Hugh Holland and stole 6 guineas; £10 in money; 1 ash coloured coat (value 20/-); 1 ash coloured waistcoat (value 10/-); 1 ash coloured pair of breeches (value 5/-) and 4 keys (value 6d).
John Austin, lawyer of Bletchley, Salop was indicted as an accomplice before the felony giving him malicious comfort and abetting, assisting, counselling and commending him to commit the burglary (WALES 4/1009/9). They were ordered for execution at Flint on Monday 21 September (WALES 14/85). The execution was reported in Adam's Chester Chronicle and Shrewsbury Chronicle Saturday 26 September with Chester dateline of 22 September.
